All of us are guilty of getting into a fitness slump at one point or another. But if you’ve already been doing the same workout it is time to switch it up a bit.

Fortunately for you, the treadmill and elliptical are not the only cardio equipment out there. . In fact, there are quite a few cardio machines and fitness programs gathering dust from fitness centers that offer a workout as extreme as running.

Here are seven ways to shake your slim-down.

Rowing Machine

A rower is a kick-butt cardio machine that imitates the motion of rowing across water.

If you have to shed a few pounds, this is the machine for you. Not only does this piece of cardio equipment burn calories, but it also strengthens every major muscle group except for your pecs.

The great part about it is that it is functional, a bit difficult at times and can allow you to burn off more calories than an elliptical or treadmill any day, as long as you set in the job.

The Cable Machine

The cable machine is one of the most overlooked pieces of equipment at the fitness center because exercisers often don’t understand how to utilize it. All they need to learn is the way to set the cables and they can do a full-body workout working with this machine alone. If you want to come up with great abs and burn off love handles, use this machine to do wood-chop exercises.”
